Donate NowZakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is a yearly obligation for every adult Muslim who owns wealth above a set amount, known as the Nisab. If you meet this amount and a full Islamic (lunar) year has passed, you must give 2.5% of your wealth as Zakat.
Zakat is more than charity — it purifies wealth and helps those in need. It is given to people who are eligible to receive support, such as the poor, orphans, and others facing hardship.
Fulfil your Zakat with iHelp Global and support lives in need.
In Islam, every adult Muslim who owns wealth above the Nisab amount must give 2.5% of that wealth as Zakat. It’s a yearly duty that helps support those in need.
Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth a Muslim must have to be required to pay Zakat.
It is based on the value of either 87.48 grams of gold or 612.36 grams of silver. If your wealth reaches or goes above this amount, and a year has passed, you must give Zakat.
There are two main types of Zakat in Islam:
Zakat al-Mal – This is the Zakat on wealth. Every adult Muslim who owns wealth above the Nisab must give 2.5% of it once a year.
Zakat al-Fitr (Fitrana) – This is a small charity given before the Eid prayer at the end of Ramadan. It’s usually given in the form of food or its value, for the sake of Allah.
