Help a Family EarnTheir Own Living
With the right tools and a little training, a family in Tanzania
can support itself for years to come.
Most families we meet
in Tanzania are not asking for charity. They want to work. They want to earn
their own money, feed their own children, and stop depending on anyone else to
get by.
This is the help that
lets them do it. We give people what they need to start a small business or
trade, so that in time they can provide for themselves and stand on their own
feet.
Empowering People In Need,

Set a Family Up to Earn
Your Own Way
You can set a family up
with their own small shop, or give whatever you can toward the tools and
training that get people earning. However much you give, it goes toward work
that keeps paying off long after your donation is made.
More Than Emergency Aid
Emergency aid saves lives, and it will always matter. But handing out food and money does not end poverty on its own. For that, a family needs a way to earn.
Our livelihood work gives people the means to provide for themselves: a small business to run, the tools to do it, and someone to show them how. The aim is simple. We want the families we help to reach the point where they no longer need us at all.
The Dignity of Earning Your Own Way
Providing for your own
family carries a deep sense of pride, and Islam holds honest work in high
regard. Earning a halal living is a dignified thing, valued for its own sake
and not only for what it puts on the table.
By funding a livelihood, you help a person earn that dignity for themselves. They bring in a halal income, provide for their family, and rely on nobody else to do it.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ Said:
“It is better for one of you to carry a bundle of firewood on his back and sell it than to beg from others.”
- (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)
What Your Donation Provides
Your donation is matched to what each family is able to do. It might pay for:
Why This Work Matters
Around the world, about 831 million people still live in extreme poverty, getting by on less than $3 a day (World Bank). Much of that hardship is now in sub-Saharan Africa, including the communities we serve in Tanzania.
A problem this size will never be solved by handouts alone. What makes a lasting difference is a steady income. Every family that starts to earn is one more household working its own way out of poverty.
Give as
Zakat or Sadaqah
Because our livelihood work reaches poor and eligible families, you can give to it through your Zakat as well as your Sadaqah. And your money does something unusual here. It keeps working long after it has been spent.
A shop you pay for today can support a family for years to come, and the good you began carries on well beyond your gift.

How We Turn a Gift Into a Living
We have always believed that the surest way out of poverty is a steady, halal income. That is why we don't just hand over cash. We sit down with each family to work out the right business for them, buy the tools they need, and teach them how to keep it running.
Our teams are based in Tanzania, so we know these families personally and stay alongside them while their new businesses find their feet.
Why Give Through iHelp Global
iHelp Global is a UK-registered charity (Charity No. 1152490), based in London. Our teams work inside the communities we serve in Tanzania, and helping families earn a living has long been a central part of what we do.
We treat every donation as a trust, and we make sure it builds something that lasts for the family who receives it.
When One Family Starts to Earn
When a parent starts bringing in money, the whole home changes. There is food on the table and the school fees get paid. The family is no longer thrown into crisis by every setback, and the children get to simply be children.
The change rarely stays with one family either. A good business supports a household, that household supports its neighbours, and in time a whole community feels the benefit.
