Fitrana & Eid GiftPaid before the prayer, eaten on the day. Body

Fitrana, also known as Zakat al-Fitr or Sadaqat al-Fitr, is the small compulsory charity every Muslim gives at the end of Ramadan. It is paid per person, on behalf of yourself and your dependants, and it has a deadline: it must be given before the Eid prayer. Its purpose is plain – so that people who are poor have food on the day everyone else is celebrating.

iHelp Global collects Fitrana from UK donors and delivers it as food to families in Tanzania and Pakistan ahead of Eid al-Fitr. Alongside it, the voluntary Eid Gift option lets you add something for children in those same communities who would otherwise have nothing to mark the day.

More Than DUTY

Fitrana Delivers

Paid on time, every Fitrana becomes something on Eid morning:
  • Food in the house before Eid staples delivered to families in the last days of Ramadan.
  • A proper Eid mealso children eat well on the day, not just watch others celebrate.
  • Something of their ownthe optional Eid Gift for children who would otherwise have nothing.
  • Delivered before the prayertimed so your Fitrana counts as Fitrana, not late Sadaqah.

Eid Morning, For Children

The Eid Gift is voluntary Sadaqah, separate from your Fitrana. It goes to children in the communities iHelp Global supports – many of them orphans already in the charity's care – so that Eid day brings them something of their own. It is a small thing to give and, for a child who expects nothing, not a small thing to receive.

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made Zakat al-Fitr obligatory… upon every Muslim, slave or free, male or female, young or old, and ordered that it be paid before people go out to the prayer."

One Payment for the Whole Household

Fitrana is due for every member of your family, including children, and is paid by the head of the household.
Enter the number of people, pay in a single transaction, and add an Eid Gift for a child in someone's name if you wish.

PAID IN RAMADAN Delivered Before Eid

Once you pay, here is what happens:
  • Your Fitrana is confirmed by email with a receipt.
  • In the final days of Ramadan, local teams buy staple foods and distribute them to families in poverty.
  • Everything is delivered before the Eid prayer, so the food is in the house for Eid morning. Distribution photos are shared afterwards.
Closing: For questions about who you need to pay for, call the team on 0121 789 7708.

The Right Timing, in the Right Place

Fitrana must reach the poor before the Eid prayer to serve its purpose. iHelp Global's local teams in Tanzania and Pakistan buy and distribute food in the final days of Ramadan so that it does.

Recipients are households the teams already know – families who would otherwise see Eid arrive with nothing to cook.

Why Pay Fitrana Through iHelp Global

iHelp Global is a UK-registered charity (Charity No. 1152490), founded in 2009, with food pack distributions in Tanzania and Pakistan since 2014.

The per-person rate is set each year and published on this page, and one transaction covers your whole household.

One Small Payment, One Whole Eid

Fitrana is a few pounds per person. Collected from many donors and spent where staple food is cheap, it becomes a proper Eid meal in homes that would not have had one.

Add an Eid Gift and a child in that same community has something of their own to mark the day.

    Feed Them Before Eid

Fitrana has a deadline, and paying early gives the teams time to buy and deliver before Eid morning. Count your household, pay for everyone in one transaction, and add an Eid Gift for a child if you wish. Pay your Fitrana with iHelp Global and the food is in a family's home in Tanzania or Pakistan before anyone heads to the prayer.
